Foxhall U15s v T.C.F.C U15s in the Blackpool & District League18 April 2010 , Kick Off : 14:30 Score 2 - 1
Foxhall just edged this 2-1 the winner coming early in the 2nd half from an own goal. With the push for 2nd spot on you'd have thought we were the mid table team in the first 20 minutes as Foxhall played some good football backed up with some robust challenges which took full advantage of the laid back referee. Loz Maddox was a casualty after only 5 minutes with a head injury which was accidental and 4 minutes later Foxhall took the lead as Thornton seemed startled by Foxhall's pace and pressure. We were lucky to keep it to one during the next 15 minutes as we weathered enormous pressure at the back and uncompromising defending when going forward, Mark Bone being the next to suffer with a wrist injury and Connor Addiison lucky to keep both his ankles as a two footed challenge scythed him down but went unpunished; even some of the Foxhall players commented to ours that it should have been a straight red. Having composed ourselves we hit back through route one when a Ben Coulburn kick was headed on into Danny Hadgraft's path and he lifted it over the keeper. Getting to half time even was an achievement and we were acutely aware that the next goal would be crucial. Unfortunately it came only 2 minutes after the restart when a lame shot which Ben Coulburn had well covered was deflected by an outstrectched Thornton foot. Foxhall again upped the physical side to their game to protect their lead and Loz Maddox had to leave the field yet again as this time an elbow to the back of the head went unpunished. Thorntonhad the better of the last 15 minutes and Reece Hughes had a chance to equalise near the end with his first touch after his reintroduction, but the ball went 'marginally' over the bar. A disappointing result though again Foxhall aren't a bad side, certainly a draw was a minimum requirement from this game so it's at least 1 point lost in my calculations. We can't fault any of the lads for effort, Loz Maddox kept his head (just) and Connor kept his feet firmly on the ground (just) and both should be back in action Tuesday, (I've no news on Mark Bones wrist !). Danny Hadgraft worked very hard throughout the match and his goal was well taken so he gets the man of the match award. T.C.F.C Goal Scorers
