After the weekends disapointment at not progressing in the Hogan Cup semi against Foxhall (are they still called Foxhall when they are drafting players in from east Lancs?) it was back to league action. TCFC made changes again from Sundays side with Cal and now Kane missing on holiday and Mitch rested to allow time to recover from injury. James comes in the unfamilular role at right back and Scott replaceing Mitch. The game got underway and it was TCFC who started brightly on a bobbly pitch and tried to play there passing game and missed a few early chances with Jack Northrop and Lewis going close. After 15 mins TCFC opened the scoring after Jack Northrop was denied with great save from the Shore keeper only for Jak Porter to slam home. 5 mins later 1-0 became 2 Porter got his 2nd after great work from Lewis in the build up. With TCFC in control South Shore had few chances and when they did Andy again was on hand to make the saves which he has done consistantly all season. TCFC 3rd goal arrived just before half time when Lewis crossed the ball which went straight over the keeper into the top corner. Half time 3-0. Just after half time South Shore got themselves back in the game with a superb finish, but minutes later Porter had his chance to get his hatrick but was brilliantly denied by the keeper. Soon after TCFC made there 1st changes with Matty Chalk replacing James and Eric replacing Jak Porter. On the hour mark TCFC made it 4-1 when Jack Northrop got in behind the Shore defence to cooly slot home. With South Shore out of the game Andy was still forced to make 3 saves in which 1 was brilliantly tipped onto the bar from a long range effort. On 70 mins Jake got his reward from another good shift in midfield with a freekick from 20 yards to make it 5-1. Full time 5-1. Overall 3 points and a great response from Sundays cup defeat and keeps us on course for a top 5 finish, well done lads lets finish the season on high.
