BJ played a long ball over the top of the Thornton defence which brought Alex rushing off his line to clear for a BJ throw. Jack P cleared up field before the ref blew for a Thornton free kick after a push on the edge of the box. Jonathan played the ball into the box and Ryan was the first to react and he put the ball in the back of the net, 0-1. Jack G cleared to Ryan down the left wing, he played a one-two with Jonathan before shooting from the edge of the box, but the keeper saved with ease. Harry won a free kick on the edge of the box. From the kick, Jonathan found Ryan but his shot was saved and BJ countered. The ball went out of play for a Thornton throw which Jonathan took to Harrison down the right, he crossed into the centre but the keeper gathered the ball. BJFF levelled the scores five minutes before half time, a shot from the edge of the area saw Alex punching the ball back into the path of the BJ attacker who slotted home at the second attempt, 1-1. On the stroke of half time, Jonathan got back to head clear for a corner from a BJ shot after a good attacking move from the home side. Jack P cleared the danger when the corner came in. Half Time 1-1 BJFF attacked from the off in the second half, but their shot went high over the Thornton bar. The home side were looking to take an early second half lead, but Jack P and Jonathan were looking strong and were not for letting BJ past them, both making a number of fantastic challenges to win back possession for their team. Harry was also showing his willingness to help out his team by dropping back into a deeper position to help deny BJ a second. Harrison made a strong run through the middle after receiving the ball from Harry who had won it back well. Through on goal and with just the keeper to beat, he couldn’t get quite enough on his shot to trouble the goalie and the scores remained level. Alex made a fantastic save down to his right to deny the BJ striker a goal, pushing the ball out for a corner. Jack P headed the cross behind for another corner, this time it was Jonny who cleared, finding Harry on the halfway line. Harry won his side a throw before Harrison won a free kick about 10 yards outside the area. Despite the distance, Jonathan opted to shoot from the free kick. His shot had power and pace on it and looked to be rocketing into the back of the net but the keeper got a strong hand to it before gathering at the second attempt. He then set his side off on the counter, but Jack P was back to cut out the attack. Jack P and Jack G, along with Jonathan dropping deep to help out the defence, were clearing everything that BJ threw at them. Ryan, Harrison and Harry were all looking sharp going forward and each came close to getting Thornton’s second of the game, but each time were denied by the keeper or last ditch defending. Full Time 1-1 Man of the Match was awarded to Jack Porter for an excellent performance in defence, he cleared anything that came his way and looked strong throughout the game. T.C.F.C Goal Scorers
