ST Anne’s 2 TCFC 2………………………………………………………………... It was a nervous start by Thornton and for the first ten minutes ST Anne’s enjoyed most of the possession and applied plenty of early pressure. Fortunately Thornton soak it all up, composed themselves well and soon started to find their feet. Jay B floated a great cross in from the right which was superbly taken and finished by Ryan, it looked perfect however the linesman, who spent most of the afternoon on the phone, flagged and the ref ruled the goal offside?????????????????. Thornton unfazed by this questionable decision kept the pressure up and Ryan was soon officially on the score sheet. ST Anne’s had some quality players namely the defence and their No 2 on the left wing, but Thornton were more than a match and deserved the lead they had. Second Half was more of the same well matched action but St Anne’s not only equalised but went 2-1 up, it was a great match to watch with both teams playing good football. With 10 mins left Dan K found himself in a shooting position and buried it nicely 2-2. the game was end to end quality football from both sides a real good afternoon, Thornton possible did enough to win but a draw was a fair enough result for both teams as both teams played well and were subject to some weak refereeing. MOM was for the first time this season awarded to two players Sam F and Lloyd B well done to you both for a well fought match which even saw Lloyd on the end of some Vinnie Jones style banter ( OUCH ). I cannot fault a single player for a second week we are starting to gel nicely and I am looking forward to the action packed next few weeks – well done TCFC.
