T.C.F.C U13s v AFC Blackpool U13s in the Blackpool & District League28 March 2010 , Kick Off : 14:30 Score 10 - 2
Thornton carried on where they left off lastweek against Blackpool Rangers with a very jittery first 20 mins. AFC went 1-0 ahead and it could have been more and game over but for some great defending from Sam and Chris and some inspired goalkeeping from Mayo. Thornton finally realised that it takes more than just turning up to win a match and ultimately the league and they decidesd that they would entertain the crowd watching from the clubhouse . The very impressive Liam equalised and then he put Thornton in the driving seat at halftime 2-1. Thornton totally dominated the second half, Masons kicking caused havoc, Scott dominated in the centre of the park, Conah ran his socks off and scored a very impressive quartet from centre midfield. Liam who was outstanding all afternoon, ran his socks off and scored a hatrick, his final goal was a class finish and must be the prime contender if not the outright winner of goal of the season. Joel scored 2 great goals and Jordan got the goal his hard work deserved. Well done to you all,. A special mention to Matty Schofield who had his best game in a Thornton shirt and to you ALL. Play like this week in week out apart from the first 20 and the sky is your limit. This was not a poor AFC side it was a very good one who could and should have been well in the lead early on, you came back showed your Manager you can play and did yourselves proud.
